To be a Woman

In the early days of motherhood, my previous resistance towards getting stuck in ‘traditional’ female roles (nurturing, homemaking, child-raising,) was challenged a lot. I began to see my natural tendencies and skills as my gifts, rather than restrictive and oppressive roles. I feel that the nature of the feminine is to tend to things, like a garden.Tend to our children, relationships, creations, community, homes, and projects. The feminine force (within all of us) is what brings the world to life. Like the woman here, she adds light to the world. Our nurturing nature and skillset may not always translate to a pay check, but that doesn’t take away from its value and power in society.
